Saint Martin’s Saints 49, Western Oregon Wolves 39

(Monmouth, OR) The Saint Martin’s Saints Women’s Basketball team had just one game this week, a Saturday matinee matchup at Western Oregon. The Saints came into the game in second place in the GNAC and have won three of four games played in 2026. Western Oregon came into the game right behind the Saints in the GNAC standings as the conference matchup could prove to be valuable come tournament time.

The Saints started slow, as Western Oregon jumped out to a quick 7-2 run. Saint Martin’s scored the final eight points of the quarter to take a 10-8 lead after the first. The Saints run continued in the early portion of the second quarter, as they built up a 15-7 lead, thanks to a 13-0 run. Saint Martin’s held Western Oregon to just six points in the second quarter and led 20-13 at the halftime break. Saint Martin’s lead was up to 11 points, but the Wolves went on an 11-1 run to get within a point. Saint Martin’s added two free throws to take a 29-26 lead after the third quarter. The Saints scored the first 10 points as part of a 12-0 run for a 13-point lead. Saint Martin’s held off Western Oregon to get a 49-39 victory.

Saint Martin’s was led by Jada Travis, who had 15 points, nine rebounds, and two steals. Kiana Rios added 12 points and seven rebounds. Avery Oaster had 10 points, five rebounds, and three blocks. The Saints were 18-24 from the free throw line despite shooting 15-45 from the floor and 1-10 from three-point land.

Saint Martin’s improves to 10-6 on the season and 6-1 in GNAC and stays in second place in the conference. The Saints will stay on the road and face Central Washington on Thursday, which leads the conference. Saint Martin’s will also travel to Northwest Nazarene on Saturday.
