South Sound Speedway: Jeff Peterson Wins Super Late Model Main

South Sound Speedway hosted an action-packed night on Saturday, May 9, 2026, featuring five racing divisions: Powersports NW Super Late Models (five cars, 75 laps), Olympia Overhead Doors Vintage Modifieds (11 cars, 35 laps), Hinkle Homes Hobby Stocks (13 cars, 35 laps), O’Reilly Auto Parts Baby Grands (7 cars, 30 laps), and FSCRA / Super 4s (8 cars, 30 laps).

Powersports NW Super Late Models Main Event

Jeff Peterson started on the pole and Will Shrader outside. Peterson led lap 1 before Matt Doyle moved in front on lap 23. Doyle spun in Turn 2 on lap 49, bringing out the first caution. Peterson regained the lead on lap 50 and went on to win the 75-lap Super Late Model feature. Doyle finished second, followed by Mitch Franklin, Shrader, and Tom Sweatman.
Matt Doyle had a fast time of 13.981.

Olympia Overhead Doors Vintage Modifieds Main Event

To begin the race Chris Branon was on the pole and George Chambers outside. Chambers took the lead on lap 1, but Scott Rinkel moved ahead on lap 8 and went on to win the 35-lap Vintage Modifieds feature. Jeff Peterson finished second, followed by Bryan Bykerk, Chambers, and Joey Cavin.
Scott Rinkel had a fast time of 15.214.
Chris Branon won heat race #1, and Jeff Peterson won heat race #2.

Hinkle Homes Hobby Stock Main Event

Markus Forham started on the pole and Andre Pilon outside. Pilon led lap 1, and Craig Pfander took over on lap 3. Later that lap, Steve Prissel broke in Turn 3 to bring out the first caution. Shawn Jones moved to the front on lap 9. A second caution came on lap 25 when Pfander spun on the front stretch. On lap 28, Samantha Baxley contacted Jack Franks, and James Warren and Bryce Tyler spun while trying to avoid them, bringing out caution number three. Eric Woods took the lead on lap 29 and went on to win the 35-lap Hobby Stock feature. Joe Champ finished second, followed by Andrew Woods, Franks, and Tyler.
Shawn Jones had a fast time of 15.64.
Andrew Woods won heat race #1, and Jack Franks won heat race #2.

O’Reilly Auto Parts Baby Grand Main Event

When the flaag dropped Ryan Hughes was on the pole and Peyton Presley outside. Presley took the lead on lap 1 before Steven Mitchell moved ahead on lap 2. Hemi Franks spun in Turn 3 on lap 17, bringing out the first caution. Presley retook the lead on lap 29 and held on to the win in the 30-lap Baby Grand feature. Derrick Presley finished second, followed by Hughes, Mitchell, and Kimber Harris.
Steven Mitchell had a fast time of 15.133.
Peyton Presley won the heat race.

FSCRA / Super 4s Main Event

Jeff Jones on the Pole and Eddie Secord outside is how this event started. Secord took the lead on lap 1 and stayed there to win the caution-free 30-lap Super 4s main event. Jones finished second, followed by Craig Neves, Bob Quarterman, and Gilbert Chamberlain.
Craig Neves had a fast time of 14.163.
Bob Quarterman won heat race #1, and Jeff Jones won heat race #2.
