As we come to the end of May, we are now into the thick of things for State Baseball and we will crown new state champions this week.
For the 1A state baseball tournament, we are guaranteed to see new champions as the reigning champions in Bellevue Christian did not make the 16-team bracket. One half of the bracket did not see too many surprises although #4 Colville fell to #13 Rochester which allowed #5 Seton Catholic to get to the semifinals to battle #1 Montesano. The other side was complete chaos that saw #11 King’s and #10 Overlake/Bear Creek matchup in the other semifinal. Overlake/Bear Creek is the only team remaining that have won a state title in baseball as they took home the title in 2024.
Below are the semifinal matchups, link to State Bracket and as the tournament rolls on we will post the most recent games and coverage at the top of the story. We will cover our games and try to find additional coverage from other media groups and link their stories and coverage to those that we find.
