(Auburn, WA) The 7 race card proved to be interesting to the bettors. The laid down more then 1.1 million on the night or a huge 160k+ per race. Kevin Krigger got hot and tripled to cut into Silvio Amador’s lead in the jockey standings and Alex Cruz heated up last week and continued with the feature race win.

Note: Last night was pour first Chehalis Music in the Park down in Chehalis, an event we have done for 20 years, a free music concert in a nice little park in Chehalis. That takes up most of my day and we have two more so our Friday night coverage will be very dependent on our great friend Vince Bruun the Emerald Downs Media Director and special thanks to Palmer Photography, Reid and his daughter Erin, the track’s photographer. We use their pictures when we can’t be there.
By the way, Reid and Erin not only take pictures of the winners and the winning connections will purchase additional pictures but anyone can buy a picture from them. If you hit a big race and want a picture of the winner stop by their office just inside the entry gates. It’s a great way to remember a big win or special day at the track.
Let’s get to Friday night!

It was a gate to wire run for 2-5 favorite Bella Ciao Ciao. Kevin Krigger went to the lead in the 1 mile run and was allowed to slow the front end down going 24.10 and 47.99 for the half. This left plenty in the tank as 4 year-old filly pulled away to an easy win of 5 lengths in a final time of 1:40.62. Go Prancealot and Blake Nunnally would run on to be 2nd with They See Me Do It and Adrian Castallanos 3rd and Doyou Hearyourself 4th under Isaias Enriquez.
There was a stewards inquiry and jockey objection at the start of the race where Go Prancealot broke in sharply and collided with The See Me Do It. The Stewards deemed it enough that could have cost The See Me Do It 2nd place so Go Prancealot was DQ’d and dropped to 3rd, moving They See Me Do It to 2nd place.
Bella Ciao Ciao is owned by Luigi and Diana Di Pietro and trained by Faustino Patino. Bella Ciao Ciao is a Washington bred by Stanford out of Reginella by Ministers Wild Cat and was bred by Di Pietro Thoroughbreds.
