Tumwater 5, Black Hills 0

(Tumwater, WA) T-Birds Head Coach Brett Bartlett has been wanting his team to finish offensively and put more goals on the board and on Thursday night he got more of what he wanted to see as his squad put up 5 on the scoreboard, their highest total yet on the season.

Scoring for Tumwater was Gabe O’Connor in the 12th minute on an assist from Dylan Stevens. In the 23rd Gavin Cuoio scored to give Tumwater a 2-0 lead at the half. Tumwater added 3 goals in the 2nd half beginning in the 56th on a beautiful lob shot by Freshman Malaki Jenkins on an assist from Levi Tellers. Up next was a free kick that went awry when Austin O’Connor tipped the ball while trying to run past it and it dribbled forward and then Dylan Stevens let it fly with a laser shot to the left side of the net for the 4-0 lead. O’Connor got the assist and then Stevens broke free on a lob pass from Pierce Yates to boot home the final goal of the night.

Tumwater’s keeper AJ Heichelbech played most of the game in goal but was replaced late by Lukas Stuart and they combined for the shut out recording 4 saves. Black Hills keeper Jonas Versaw was peppered all night and while he gave up 5 goals he knocked down 13 saves.

Our Thorbeckes MVP’s went to Tumwater’s Austin O’Connor and Black Hills’ Shane Braz. Tumwater improves to 6-2 in league play and 6-4 overall while the Wolves drop to 4-4 in league play and 6-6 for the season.
