(Renton, WA) King 5’s Chris Egan again led the ceremonies of inducting the class of 2021 and 2022 into the WIAA Hall of Fame. The WIAA does this every 2 years but have gone back-to-back to catch up from the pause during the pandemic. 2 athletes were chosen for each year, 1 coach, administrator and contributor for each year and 1 official for a total of 11 being honored at a luncheon today attended by more than 200 people.
The 3 students who received the Smart Choices scholarships were also honored at the ceremony. Nick Baker from Curlew High School, Jansyn Carrizales from Sunnyside High and Cameron Sheets from WF West in Chehalis all won a $5,000 scholarship. Baker and Sheets both have 4.0 GPA’s and Carrizales 3.99 and all 3 have been involved sports and been extensively involved in community projects.
