The 1st Professor DW Football Challenge is in the books and Katie King pulls off her own OT win to take the Championship!

Going into the final day Kevin Hamrick led after each of the 3 rounds and held a 1 point lead over Katie, Bob Kickner and Lee Stockwell. Hamrick got shut out when the Chiefs scored the final touchdown for the win as he had San Fran and Purdy as his MVP and if the 49ers won he may have had 2 points right there but at least 1 point and the 3 just behind would have all been shut out.

No one picked the Receiver with the most yards which turned out to be Travis Kelce nor did anyone get the field goal distance which was 55-59. We had a few 50-54 and 1 60+ but no one had 55-59 so no one scored more than 2 points.

Katie, Bob and Lee all had KC and Mahomes as the MVP for a 3-way tie for 1st. This took us to OT or the tie-breaker which was the total points scored in all 13 play-off games. Going into the game the total was 594 through 12 games. 47 points were scored in the Super Bowl to make the final total 641 and you had to be under for your guess to count. (The Price is Right rule)

Katie had 634 missing it by just 7 points. But Katie needed the OT and KC to win because they scored 9 points in OT which means there was 632 at the end of regulation and she was over at that point. The stars aligned for Katie after San Fran took the 3 point lead in OT she just needed KC to win and she was the Champion.

Both Bob and Lee went with SF’s Deebo Samuel to have the most receiving yards and went away from their winner and MVP picks and Samuel was not close. Katie at least picked a Chief Rashee Rice but still missed winning it outright.

Katie wins $100 in cash, plus gift cards from Subway and an Eli Sports Hoodie! Congrats Katie!

Thank-you all for playing this year, we will look at it over the off-season see if we change anything up but it will be similarnext season. This was fun!! See you in September!

The Professor!
