(DuPont, WA) The Washington Men’s Amateur Championship holds five qualifiers across the state to determine the field. The fourth qualifier was held at The Home Course, where 24 golfers made the cut to play at the Washington Men’s Amateur Championship, held later this month at Bear Creek Country Club in Woodinville.
Leading the way was a three-way tie at the top, where the lead trio all shot 3-under. Bryan White from Camas, Warren Ayers from Ethel, and Tyler Kalberg from Seattle led the way in DuPont. Bryan White had four birdies and just one bogey to shoot 34-35. Warren Ayers shot a 3-under, 33 on the front nine and was even on the back nine for his round of 69. Tyler Kalberg birdied three holes in a row on two different occasions for his round. Kalberg birdied holes 9 through 11 and 15 through 17, while having only two pars on the final 12 holes.
Matt Hodgman from Enumclaw, Pat Perkins from Bremerton, Paul Mitzel from Gig Harbor, and Jaeger Christian from Enumclaw all had rounds of 2-under 70 to tie for fourth. Tied for eighth was Koen Solis from Mill Creek and Timothy Mondonedo from Bellevue, both firing rounds of 1-under 71. Carl Jonson from North Bend, Spencer Clapp from Renton, Mitchell Woodside from Kingston, Grady Millar from Vancouver, Garrett Stephens from Carnation, and Joshua Wood from Bremerton all tied for 10th with even par rounds of 72.
Tying for 16th was David Creed from Seattle, Jonathan Tran from Seattle, Henry Mills from Seattle, Niik Triyananont from Bellevue, Henry Kippenhan from Mill Creek, Ryan Takeshita from Auburn, Steven Sullivan from Seattle, Collin Roberts from Seattle, and Jeffry Lawrie from Renton, all shot 1-over 73s to grab the final qualifying spots for the Championship.
Grant Garrison from Lake Tapps is the first alternate, Nathaniel Hoopes from Bainbridge Island is the second alternate, Chandler Hawk from Seattle is the third alternate, and Elliot Ro from Sammamish is the fourth alternate. The four players all shot 2-over rounds of 74.
