(Adna, WA) The Adna Holiday Hoops Tournament was completed on Tuesday and ESN broadcast all 10 games, 5 from each day. There were 4 boys teams and 6 girls squads competing over the 2-day event. The tournament was a showcase style tournament where each team played a pre-determined opponent and there were no brackets nor any official placings.
There were 3 teams who went 2-0. On the girls side, the Adna Pirates won both of their games and on the boys side, the RA Long Lumberjacks and Tumwater T-Birds swept their schedules.
ESN compiled our “unofficial” stats and came up with our A-A-H-H-T-T (All Adna Holiday Hoops Tournament Team).
These teams are meant to highlight the terrific play of players that stood out to us and is not scientific in the least. Just a chance to point out as many individiual performances as possible.
Congratulations to all teams and players for their efforts in this event.
Boys All-Tournament Team
With just 4 teams we went with an MVP, 5 1st team players and Honorable Mentions.
MVP
Josh Crane, RA Long
Josh was the steadying force for the Jacks on both days and finished with a total of 33 points, 10 rebounds and 2 3-pointers. His effort was well split in both games and his consistency is what put him over the top for the MVP Award.
1st Team
1. Luke Overbay, Tumwater
Overbay scored 25 and just missed two double-doubles with a total of 21 rebounds (11-9) and was a huge presence in the paint for the T-Birds.
2. Caden Grubb, Montesano
Caden was a clear standout from the Bulldogs squad scoring 34 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Grubb was one of the most consistent players from all teams over the 2 days
3. Jeff Rooklidge, RA Long
Rooklidge showed he can sting a team bad if they forget about him as he dropped 5 long balls in their 2nd game against Adna. He finished with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 6 treys for the 2 days.
4. Landon Anchors, Tumwater
Landon had his best game against the host Adna Pirates and considering it was a 1 point win they needed every one of his 19 points with 3 long balls. Anchors finished with 26 points, 5 boards and 4 3-pointers.
5. Trevin Salme, Adna
Trevin dropped 30 in the Pirates 1st game as they nearly upset 2A Tumwater losing by 1 point. Salme had 5 3-balls and 7 boards in that game. He finished the tournament with 37 points, 14 rebounds and 6 3-pointers.
Honorable Mentions

Girls All-Tournament Team
With 6 teams we went with an MVP, 5 1st team players and Honorable Mentions.
MVP
Mckenna Torrey, Adna
Mckenna singed the nets for a total of 39 points 6 from behind the arc. She also grabbed 6 rebounds and ran the point for the Pirates. Torrey was especially heated in their battle with Neah Bay who will no doubt be in the running for the 1B state championship again this season. Torrey banked in a late 3 ball to help secure the tight win against Neah Bay.
1st Team
1. Cerise Moss, Neah Bay
Cerise had 18 in game 1 and then got into deep foul trouble against Adna on day 2 but still came up with 13 points playing with 4 fouls and never did foul out. She finished with a total of 31 points, 4 rebounds and 8 3-balls to lead all, boys and girls in 3 pointers.
2. Aaliyah Kennedy, Hoquiam
Kennedy led the Grizzlies both days including dropping 29 on Tuesday, the 2nd most points in a single game behind the 30 of Trevin Salme. Kennedy also grabbed 14 rebounds and had 1 3-ball.
3. Jillie Dalan, Montesano
Dalan was super consistent and led all-scorers, boys and girls with 43 points scoring 23 and 20. Dalan did most of her damage in tight with just 3 long balls and had a total of 7 boards. Partly because she made most of her shots and didn’t have a shot at many second chance points.
4. Qwaapeys Greene, Neah Bay
Greene shows up to play every game and put up impressive numbers for the 2 days. Greene finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds and 2 3-pointers. She was difficult on defense forcing several turnovers and an all-around super consistent force.
5. Allyssa Carroll, Adna
Allyssa Carroll is so tough in the paint and did her damage down low scoring through some tough defense in both games. She had 22 points and 15 rebounds.
