Seattle 1, Cincinnati 1
(Cincinnatti, OH) The Seattle Sounders last won a game on May 13th. Before the World Cup and racked up 11 straight losses. On Saturday they at least snapped the losing streak but still didn’t win settling for a 1-1 tie at FC Cincinnati.
FC Cincy struck first in the 1st half firing multiple shots at the Sounder’s Andrew Thomas and got one by the Seattle keeper in the 24th minute on a shot from Evander Da Silva Ferreira to take the 1-0 lead.
Despite giving up the goal, Thomas tied his career high with 7 saves. Thomas and the backline defense kept the Sounders in the game while the offense continues to struggle getting the ball into the back of the net.
Seattle has been hit hard by injury bug and the offense has not been able to get into a rhthym and struggling to generate a consistent attack.
The Sounders were counting down to a 12th straight loss when they put together a scoring combination. In the 83rd minute, the Sounders Albert Rusnak sent a pass over to Kalani Kossa-Rienzi who scored to tie the match.
The Sounders are now 7-9-4 on the season but still looking for their first win since beating San Jose 3-2 bac k in May. Seattle will host Chicago on Saturday.
Cincinnati is now 8-6-7 on the season and will travel to Nashville on Saturday.
