(Bellevue, WA) After streaming all eight games of the KingCo 3A Baseball Tournament for the second year in a row, ESN will be dishing out the first KingCo 3A All-Tournament Team. To be eligible for the All-Tournament Team, players must play two games, or for pitchers, throw five innings or more. There will be a Most Outstanding Player, the All-Tournament Team, and a list of Honorable Mentions, where all players are eligible. Congratulations to all on putting on a wonderful show once again in the KingCo 3A Tournament.

Most Outstanding Player

Mercer Island’s Brady Dolence takes MOP honors. The sophomore was sensational for the Islanders at first base, and closed out the KingCo Championship Game on the mound to get the save and send Mercer Island to State. Dolence reached base five times in his eight plate appearances and scored all five times he made it on the basepaths. Dolence had a single and a double in the Semifinals against Interlake and was hit by a pitch and singled against Inglemoor in the Title Game. Dolence threw one inning against Inglemoor, walking two batters and striking out the final two. He was a reliable glove at first base, as he showcased his full arsenal of talent.

All-Tournament Team

Catcher – Zach Diaz, Interlake. Diaz was very reliable defensively and routinely put himself on base. Diaz had two games where he reached base in every plate appearance and was the Game MVP in Interlake’s 10-2 win over Bellevue.

Pitcher – Connor Mayer, Liberty (Renton). Mayer had the gem of the tournament, throwing a complete game, allowing four hits, and striking out 10 in the Patriots win in the Quarterfinals. Mayer followed it up with 5.2 IP and five strikeouts on the mound in a loser-out game victory over Interlake.

First Base – Brady Didrickson, Interlake. Didrickson helped lead the Saints to a deep run in the tournament as he recorded either an RBI or scored a run in every tournament game while being rock solid defensively.

Second Base – Rocco Suarez, Inglemoor. Last year, Suarez was used mainly as a courtesy or pinch runner for Inglemoor, and this season has elevated his play to reach First-Team All-League honors and the All-Tournament Team. Suarez lived on the basepaths, reaching base seemingly every time he stepped up to the plate while taking away numerous ground balls hit in his zip code.

Shortstop – Liam Sirianni, Mercer Island. The Game MVP of the Islanders Semifinal victory with three runs scored and reaching base in every plate appearance. He scored four times in two games and was sound defensively by not letting anything get past him.

Third Base – Hugs Aufranc, Mercer Island. Aufranc reached base over half of the time he came to the plate, with RBI hits in both games he appeared in. Aufranc also guarded the hot corner to perfection to help the Islanders become league champs.

Left Field – Hudson Kauzlarich, Liberty (Renton). Kauzlarich had a streak of six consecutive plate appearances of reaching base safely over the course of three games. He also had a good glove in the outfield to secure fly balls his way.

Center Field – Tino Pozzo, Mercer Island. In the Semifinal, Pozzo reached base all four times, putting himself into scoring position twice while driving in two runs. Pozzo also knocked in an insurance run in the Championship Game while gloving fly balls in center.

Right Field – Ty Marcum, Interlake. Marcum finished the tournament reaching base in five straight plate appearances while scoring or driving in a run in three of four games he played in. Marcum’s reliability in the batter’s box and in the outfield helped Interlake make a deep run in the tournament.
