7/4/26
We are just a couple of weeks away from the 2026 MLB All-Star Game in Philadelphia and on America’s 250th birthday, the rosters were released for the American League and National League All-Star teams. Only one Seattle Mariner was selected to the team initially but it is a familiar face to the All-Star Game.
For the third time in his career, outfielder Randy Arozarena will be headed to the Mid-Summer Classic. This is Arozarena’s second trip to the All-Star Game as a Mariner after also being named an All-Star last season. His other All-Star Game was in 2023 in Seattle when he put on a show with a robbed hit against the wall in the 1st inning.
Arozarena is having a strong season and actually hit a grand slam just hours before being selected to the All-Star team. So far in 2026, Arozarena is slashing .287/.376/.453 with nine home runs and 41 runs batted in. His 21 doubles and 19 stolen bases is where he is really doing his damage while being a fan favorite with his electric personality. Enjoying his best year as a Mariner in the final season of his contract, Arozarena is expected to draw quite a bit of attention in free agency this offseason.
While Arozarena is the only Mariner currently on the team, others could join the squad as players could opt to decline playing in the All-Star Game while a number of pitchers will be unavailable due to pitching right before the break. Guys like, Julio Rodríguez, Logan Gilbert and Bryce Miller could see their names added to the mix in the coming weeks.
