South Sound Speedway July 4: Holiday Racing and Fan Fun!; Tom Sweatman Wins USA Late Model Main

South Sound Speedway came alive on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with six divisions competing across a full night of racing. The program
featured the D & S Light Truck and Auto USA Late Models, Crown Stocks, Legends, Legends/Young Lions, CSM Heating Cooling,
Roofing & Solar South Sound Modifieds, and Bandoleros.

D & S Light Truck and Auto USA Late Model Main Event

The 12-car, 50-lap feature started with Scott Graf on the pole and Aaron Flett alongside. Graf led the opening lap before Flett moved ahead on lap 3. A series of cautions reshuffled the field throughout the race, including incidents involving Dan Walker, Flett, Tom Sweatman, Graf, Robert Clark, Randy Garcia, and Mike Brooks. Clark led on lap 24, Garcia took over on lap 31, and Sweatman claimed the lead on lap 42. Sweatman held on through the final restart to win, followed by Dylan Wolf, Flett, Brooks, and Clark. Fast time: Tom Sweatman, 14.239 — new track record.

Crown Stock Main Event

Jaxson Johnson started on the pole with Layla Jolie to his outside in the seven-car, 30-lap feature. Early cautions came after Doug Wilde spun in turn 4 and Alex Kieff and Steven Gomes got together on the restart. Donnie Steele took the lead on lap 1 and stayed in control through additional cautions, including debris on lap 16 and another incident between Kieff and Gomes. Steele went on to win, followed by Wilde, Jolie, Johnson, and Gomes. Fast time: Tyler Hamilton, 18.113.

CSM Heating Cooling, Roofing & Solar South Sound Modifieds Main Event

Pete Tyree started on the pole with Dan Walker on the outside for the three-car, 20-lap main event. Walker took the lead on lap 1 and led the rest of the way to earn the win, followed by Pete Tyree and Jim Tyree. Fast time: Dan Walker, 15.064. Heat race winner: Dan Walker.

Legend Main Event

Davis Jacobson started on the pole with Damien Harris on the outside in the 13-car, 35-lap feature. Jacobson led lap 1 before Dylan Wolf took over on lap 2. The race stayed green until lap 29, when Hunter Gates and Madi Weber got together in turn 2. On the restart, Jacobson and Ryley Hamness were involved in another caution in turn 1. Wolf went on to win, followed by Tristan Haider, Roland McPeake, Harris, and Shane Sawin. Fast time: Tristan Haider, 15.536.
Heat race winners: Grayson Miller won heat race #1, and Roland McPeake won heat race #2.

Young Lions Main Event

Leilani Langston started on the pole with Carter Sweatman on the outside for the five-car, 15-lap main event. Sweatman took the lead on lap 1. Caleb Canfield brought out the first caution on lap 8 after spinning Langston in turn 4, and Richie Rector spun in turn 2 on lap 12 to bring out the second caution. Sweatman went on to win, followed by Canfield, Langston, Rector, and Brody Leach. Fast time: Caleb Canfield, 16.136. Heat race winner: Caleb Canfield.

Bandolero Main Event

TJ Schlund started on the front row and led from lap 1 in the eight-car, 20-lap main event. Karsen Schlund spun in turn 2 on the opening lap to bring out the first caution, and Thatcher Olsen spun in turn 4 on lap 6 for the second caution. TJ Schlund stayed out front to take the win, followed by Rylan Presley, Ryder Jones, Chase Hormann, and Chase Johnson. Fast time: TJ Schlund, 18.117. Heat race winners: TJ Schlund won heat race #1, and Chase Johnson won heat race #2.
