In a story by Mark Schlabach for ESPN, the two top PGA golfers offer differing opinions of the quikly changing landscape with LIV golf. When LIV golf was launched it was marketed and back by investors from Saudi Arabia. They offered massive contracts to attract PGA players to join their new league.
Several golfers did jump shit but the hope of killing off the PGA and creating a new super tour has fizzled to what appears to be an idea desparately trying to hang on. Over dumping 6 billion dollars into this venture, the Saudi investors have decided to cut their losses and are out.
This has led to cut paychecks, diminshed events and a concept that may have looked good on paper but never got the publoic support they so dearly needed to make this successful.
Now many of those LIV players are hoping to get re-instated with the PGA. In Schlabach’s story he talks with the PGA’s Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. In this story both golfers offer their opinion on allowing players back on the tour and both coming from different perspectives.
