A new Washington State-based media company has come to agreement to acquire the former Eli Sports Network. West 42 Sports is positioned to continue and expand the pathway ESN has created over the past 16 years.
West 42 Sports General Manager Matt King says, “the new company will continue to cover the large number of live streamed high school sports games and events as always.”
King said that a new partnership with Cosmic Sports out of Yakima will strengthen our combined coverage of “all sports for the 42nd State.”
One of the partners with Cosmic Sports, Jeff Weeks, is a longtime educator and administrator and has worked many of the State events over the past 10 years.
Cosmic Sports has done most of the production work in all events in Yakima from covering the 5 courts at State Volleyball, to State Basketball and other events around the area including State Baseball and Track.
King says, “bringing these two entities together will solidify the live streaming portion of this business. West 42 Sports with a focus on Western Washington and Cosmic Sports on the East side.”
Users will continue to have 100% free access to the West 42 Sports website and if they follow any of the social media there won’t be any change in accessing our materials, King said.
To access the West 42 Sports website there is no username, passwords or even pop-up ads, it’s 100% free to view and you’ll find all sports from professional to high school with an emphasis on Washington State teams and organizations. West42sports.com is the new web address.
To watch the live streams, it is a subscription-based service through the main platform of the NFHS Network. West 42 Sports and Cosmic Sports provide live broadcasts with broadcasters to those feeds and are paid directly from the NFHS.
“Our focus is on providing as much coverage to High school sports as possible from a positive perspective. We don’t bash players, coaches or officials and focus on athlete and team achievement. We will continue to follow up with written stories of the games and events we present and hope to expand that coverage to include more teams and leagues all around the state”, King said.
