(Lakewood, WA) In an intense Pierce County League match between two teams vying for the post season, it was Bonney Lake who came back and defeated the home Lakes Lancers in 5 sets, 25-20 Lakes, 25-16 Bonney Lake, 25-15 Lakes, 25-12 Bonney Lake and 18-16 Bonney Lake in the final set.

Lakes had a big match from Freshman Elizabeth Filiaga who had 16 kills, 17 digs and and 1 block. Melila Pulalasi added 10 kills and 2 blocks, Marley Alefaio had 3 blocks, 3 aces and 6 kills. Libero Elira Blanchard had 21 digs and Kylene Franko had 42 assists and 4 aces.

Ella Hamry had a huge night for Bonney Lake from her Libero position for the Panthers, she had 10 digs that kept plays alive and turned into points for Bonney Lake. Her 7 service aces led the team as well. Emily Shaw led BL with 14 kills, and Gabby Fry had 13 digs.

The win for Bonney Lake avenged a 3-1 loss to Lakes at home on Sept. 19 and improved the Panthers overall record to 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the PCL.

Lakes falls to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in league play.
