South Sound Speedway: Joey Cavin takes Vintage Mods

South Sound Speedway delivered a full night of racing on Saturday, June 13, 2026, with six classes competing. The lineup included
Olympia Overhead Doors Vintage Modifieds with 11 cars for 35 laps; O’Reilly Auto Parts Baby Grands with 7 cars for 30 laps;
Busted MC / Black Lake Auto Wrecking Tuners with 21 cars for 26 laps; South Sound Bandits with 13 cars for 25 laps;
FSCRA/Super 4s with 8 cars for 30 laps; and WMRA with 12 cars for 35 laps.

Olympia Overhead Doors Vintage Modified Main Event

Robert Stark started on the pole with Dave Larson on the outside. Chad Smith took the lead on lap 1 before Joey Cavin moved to
the front on lap 9. The first caution came on lap 17 in turn 2 when Steve Conduff spun. Cavin held on to win the 35-lap Vintage
Modified main event.
Top five: Joey Cavin, George Chambers, Jeff Peterson, Chad Smith, and Kevin Rinkel.
Fast time: Jeff Peterson, 15.604.
Heat winners: Chad Smith won heat race #1, and George Chambers won heat race #2.

O’Reilly Auto Parts Baby Grand Main Event
Ryan Hughes started on the pole with Jamison Johnson on the outside. Johnson led lap 1, and Steven Mitchell took over on lap 9.
The first caution came on lap 13 in turn 1 when Johnson’s motor blew and Hughes spun to avoid the incident. Mitchell went on to
win the 30-lap Baby Grand main event.
Top five: Steven Mitchell, Peyton Presley, Ryan Hughes, Derrick Presley, and Hemi Franks.
Fast time: Steven Mitchell, 15.159.
Heat winner: Steven Mitchell.

Busted MC / Black Lake Auto Wrecking Tuner Main Event
Dean Utterback started on the pole with Jeremy Cleveland on the outside. Utterback led lap 1 before Dillion D’Andrea took the lead
on lap 2. Utterback reclaimed the lead on lap 3, the same lap Cleveland spun in turn 1 to bring out the first caution. Chris Branon,
Marcis Davis, Tim Jordan, Billy Gallwas, Jordan Peterson, and Jake Utterback all spent time out front during a race filled with lead
changes and cautions. Gallwas took the lead on lap 26 and won the 26-lap Tuner main event.
Top five: Billy Gallwas, Jake Utterback, Dean Utterback, Chris Branon, and Dillion D’Andrea.
Heat winners: Dillion D’Andrea won heat race #1, Billy Gallwas won heat race #2, and Mike Myers won heat race #3.

South Sound Bandit Main Event
Steve Miller started on the pole with Tyler Peters on the outside. Daryl Knutson led lap 1 before Braydon Aumen took over on lap 3.
The first caution came on lap 19 in turn 4 when Jay Elliott spun. On the restart, Jaxson Johnson and Elliott got together, and Elliott
flipped, bringing out the second caution and a red flag. Aumen went on to win the 25-lap Bandit main event.
Top five: Braydon Aumen, Riley Windsor, Tyler Yates, Cameron Stark, and Daryl Knutson.
Fast time: Tyler Yates, 15.116.
Heat winners: Tyler Yates won heat race #1, and Riley Windsor won heat race #2.

FSCRA/Super 4s Main Event
Bob Quarterman started on the pole with Jeff Jones on the outside. Jones led lap 1 before the first caution came on lap 2 in turn 1
when Vic Rogers’ motor blew. Tommy Laxson took the lead on lap 3, Jones reclaimed it on lap 5, and Eddie Secord moved to the
front on lap 8. Secord went on to win the 30-lap Super 4s main event.
Top five: Eddie Secord, Tommy Laxson, Jeff Jones, Bob Quarterman, and Gilbert Chamberlain.
Fast time: Tommy Laxson, 14.700.
Heat winners: Eddie Record won heat race #1, and Jeff Jones won heat race #2.

WMRA Main Event
Kiel Vaillant started on the pole with Ryan Grimm on the outside. After the green flag, Grimm spun in turn 4 to bring out the first
caution. Rickey Worley led lap 1. On lap 5 in turn 1, Rick Kraft flipped, bringing out the second caution and a red flag. A third
caution came on lap 6 when Jon Olson spun on the front stretch. Rob Lindsey took the lead on lap 15 and went on to win the 35-lap
WMRA main event.
Top five: Rob Lindsey, Tony Seidelman, Ryan Grimm, Bradie Rogers, and Danny Mathews.
Fast time: Tony Seidelman, 13.719.
