(Bellevue, WA) This was Bellevue’s season opener due to sanctions that most everyone is aware of (if you want more information on that google it.) The point is the Wolverines have no shot at post-season ad only 6 games they are allowed to play so you know they are bringing their best each time this season.

This game quickly developed into a defensive battle. After a scoreless 1st quarter, Tumwater hit the board first when Noah Andrews hit Cade Otton and Nathan Seaman added the PAT to take a 7-0 lead. This score would hold up to the break and was clear that one play could end up deciding this game.

In the 2nd half Bellevue’s defense would tie the game when Isaiah Infanse intercepted Noah Andrews and returned it 35-yards for the score, Thomas Monaghan booted the extra point and it was tied 7-7.

Monaghan would come into play 2 more times for the Wolverines as he hit a 31-yard field goal and the Wolverines would take their 1st lead 10-7 through 3 quarters. Monaghan then hit an impressive 42-yarder and Bellevue led 13-7.

This set up a crazy finish. After driving down to inside the 10 for a 1st goal, Bellevue held and forced a 4th and goal from the 16. Andrews threw the ball incomplete but a pass interference call would put the ball on the 8 giving Tumwater another shot from half the distance. Andrews under pressure, took off trying to run it in but would fall short at the 2 with about 3:30 remaining. Bellevue with their backs against their own goal line could not move out of the danger area and were 3 and out. With a 6-point lead and having to punt out of their own endzone the Wolverines chose to take a knee in the endzone and give up the 2-point safety to make it a 4-point game.

This allowed Bellevue to boot a free kick down to the Tumwater 34. The T-Birds then drove all the way down to the Bellevue 26 with just 2-seconds left to play. Andrews rolled to his left looking to toss one into the endzone with 3 receivers stacked in a line and the middle receiver, Otton elevated above all the defenders and pulled down the winning touchdown with no time left on the clock giving Tumwater the 15-13 win.

Tumwater improves to 3-0 while Bellevue opens at 0-1. Our Tommy Lowe of the Greene Realty Group Players of the Game went to Tumwater’s Cade Otton and Bellevue’s Isaiah Infanse. Our ProActive Play of the Game was the final play of the game, Noah Andrews to Otton for the game winner.
