(Pasco, WA) Sun Willows Golf Course hosted the 2024 State Championships for Cross Country. Both the boys and girls State Championships took place yesterday, with 4A through 1B, ambulatory/unified, and wheelchair championships taking place throughout the day. Below are the Boys State Champions with links to the full results.

4A Boys
Lewis and Clark would win the team State Championship with a score of 100 and Issaquah wasn’t far behind in second with 104. Kamiakin rounded out the top three with 140.
In the individual Championship, Cooper Boyle from Tahoma would win State with a time of 14:57.20, only eight seconds ahead of Isaac Benjamin from South Kitsap. In third was Zachary Leader from Redmond, Ezra Teeples took fourth from Kamiakin, and Cohen Butler from Camas finished in fifth place.

3A Boys
Mercer Island would be crowned the State Champs in the team portion of the competition. Mercer Island had 68, while Central Kitsap came in second with a team score of 121. Cheney rounded out the top three with 131.
Owen Powell from Mercer Island won the individual State Championship with a time of 14:44.90, only four seconds ahead of Vincent Recupero from Bishop Blanchet. Mt. Spokane’s Kade Brownell took third place, in fourth was sophomore Mana Voss from Central Kitsap, and Mercer Island’s Bodie Thomas came in fifth.

2A Boys
Sehome would claim both the boys and girls State Championships, as the boys team had a score of 34. Bainbridge came in second with 79 and Ellensburg had 87.
The top five individuals were separated by less than 20 seconds, with Dylan Rowell from Anacortes getting the individual State Championship with a time of 15:26.90. Nick Gargano of Sehome came in second just three seconds behind Rowell, Mystic Hammond from Ellensburg took third, Skylar Gillham from Sehome took fourth and Jacob McManus finished fifth for Columbia River.

1A Boys
Cedar Park Christian (Bothell) would also sweep the team State Championships as the boys team had 49, edging Bush by 13 who had 62. Meridian came in third place with 122.
Will Carroll from Annie Right would get the individual State Championship with a time of 15:28.40. Josh Healey a sophomore from Vashon Island finished second, Duncan Frisbie-Smith from Bush took home third place, Malik Ortiz a sophomore from Colville took fourth and William Reeves from Eastside Prep finished fifth place.

2B Boys
The top three in the 2B Boys team competition was extremely tight, with the top three teams separated by just six points. Cle Elum-Roslyn won with a score of 90, Saint George’s School was in second with 95, and Chewelah was in third with 96.
Dexter Delaney from Liberty Bell won the individual State Championship with a time of 15:30.90. Emmitt Warren from Chewelah took second place, Treyton Marty from Toledo finished third, Waylon Stoneburg-Schafer a freshman from Cle Elum-Roslyn finished fourth, and Shawn Jones from Saint George’s School rounded out the top five.

1B Boys
Valley Christian won the team State Championship with a score of 23, Garfield-Palouse came in second with 64, and Pope John Paul II was right behind them in third with 68.
Valley Christian had the top three in the individual competition, as Westin Madden took home the State Title with a time of 16:13.80, Wesley Hendrickson finished second, and Preston Arnold took third. Garfield-Palous rounded out the top five with Brendan Snekvik finishing fourth and Kieran Snekvik taking fifth.

Boys Ambulatory
Jacob Hopkins from Cascade (Everett) took the top spot with a time of 12:57.50 to win the Boys Ambulatory State Championship.
