(Belleair, FL) This week, the LPGA heads back to Florida for The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican before the season wraps up next week. There are a lot of stars in the field, such as Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, Lottie Woad, Charley Hull, and others. There’s a familiar face to the Pacific Northwest who will be teeing it up this week as well. Lauryn Nguyen, who hails from Seattle and led Northwestern to the National Championship this spring, makes her LPGA debut this week.

Nguyen had an illustrious college career at West Seattle High School before flourishing at Northwestern. At Northwestern, she was a four-time All-Big Ten golfer, a two-time All-American, holds the records for both single-season and career scoring averages in program history, and was a key piece in the Wildcats winning the coveted National Championship. She left Northwestern as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, player in the program’s history. Nguyen was the 2020 Washington Junior Player of the Year.

Nguyen will have a unique start to the week. In tomorrow’s pro-am, she will tee it up alongside WNBA star Caitlin Clark. Nguyen received one of three sponsors’ invites. Tee times will be announced later this week, and there will be coverage on Golf Channel throughout the week.
